The Leeds Children's Play Area is located within Leeds Playing Field and provides a dedicated, fenced outdoor play space for younger members of the community.

The play area includes a range of equipment for children to enjoy, including:

• swings;
• climbing equipment;
• a slide; and
• a roundabout.

Investment in the Play Area

The current children's play area was installed in 2019 following a significant investment in children's recreational facilities within the village.

Leeds Parish Council invested £13,000 in the new play area, with a further £10,000 contribution from Maidstone Borough Council, providing a total investment of £23,000.

The fenced facility was created to provide children and families with a dedicated outdoor space for play and recreation within the wider Leeds Playing Field.

Inspection & Maintenance

Leeds Parish Council is responsible for the children's play area and arranges for the play equipment to be regularly inspected and maintained to help ensure that it remains safe and in good condition.

Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising children while using the play area and are asked to ensure that the equipment is used appropriately.

Location

The Children's Play Area is situated within Leeds Playing Field, at the end of Lower Street and the beginning of Upper Street, Leeds, Kent.

The entrance to the Playing Field is opposite The Abbotts and close to Forge Lane, marked by the Leeds Village sign.

The wider Playing Field also provides football, tennis and basketball facilities, a sports pavilion and recreational open space for the local community.
